Paul Brigginshaw - Executive Chairman

Paul BrigginshawPaul Brigginshaw has been Chairman of the company since it was formed in 1985. Paul has spent all of his working life in the shipping industry and until 2005 was also Managing Director of Fred. Olsen (UK) Ltd. He has overall responsibility for developing company strategy.

 

Alan Long - Managing Director

Alan LongAlan joined the company in 1987, having spent the previous 15 years with HM Customs & Excise. As Managing Director he is responsible for the day to day running of the company and he also helps to develop company strategy along with the Executive Chairman.

 

David Copsey – Accountant

David CopseyDavid has over 20 years experience managing finance for SME's. Prior to joining MCP in 1992, he was a Director of a Toyota dealership . As part of the team at MCP, David is responsible for the financial control of the company.

 

Ole Krebs – Office Manager

Ole KrebsOle has worked for the company for over 20 years and as office manager his responsibilities include that of Customer Services, system functionality and interfaces. He came to the UK in 1978 - ostensibly to gain frontline agency experience for a six month period after having completed his apprenticeship with a major ship owner in Copenhagen - but, as they say, liked the place so much he decided to stay.

 

Russell Knowles – Systems Manager

Russell KnowlesRussell has spent over 25 years in IT all within the Transport Sector and has been with MCP since 2003. Prior to this he worked for the Port of Felixstowe in their IT Department. He has run large projects and teams in both software development and support disciplines. His current role at MCP is Systems Manager and is responsible for managing the MCP software development team.

 

John Masson – Solution Architect

John MassonJohn has been with MCP since 1990 and project managed the software development team that maintained and enhanced FCPS. Once the development of Destin8 started his main role changed to that of Solution Architect, although he also manages the Quality Assurance test team. He previously had his own software development company that undertook projects in the manufacturing, shipping, public utility, property management, local and national government sectors.

 

Tanya Anderson – Quality Assurance Testing

Tanya AndersonTanya joined MCP in 2005 following 18 years with Customs & Excise, where she gained experience in a number of disciplines.  Her initial role within MCP was as a member of the Helpdesk team, where, in addition to her Customer services role she was responsible for co-ordination of pre-release UAT testing.  In 2010 Tanya took up a position on the Quality Assurance Testing team where she will make use of her previous experience and testing qualifications.

 

Arlene Bennett - Customer Services

Arlene BennettA graduate from university Arlene worked for over 6 years within the Planning and Operations sector of the transport industry. Her current role is as member of the Customer Services team providing Destin8 support and advice.

 

Daniel Farrow - Systems Developer

Daniel FarrowDan joined MCP from university and has now been employed by MCP for over 8 years. Dan is part of the software development team and is responsible for the design of new components and also specialises in J2EE development. Once Destin8 went live his role changed slightly to include support of Destin8.

 

Andy Finch - Systems Developer

Andrew FinchAndy joined MCP in 2003 having previously worked for 2 major Shipping Lines.  Andy's initial role was Customer Administration and as such dealt with all aspects of customer connectivity.  As well as being heavily involved with Destin8 UAT testing, Andy was also part of the Cutover Team which ensured customers were notified of all important Destin8 information prior to the cutover from FCPS.  His current role at MCP is Developer where his previous system experience should prove invaluable.

 

Paula Gilbert – Quality Assurance Testing

Paula GilbertPaula has 15 years experience within the shipping industry. Since joining MCP in 2003 she has worked as part of the customer services team and is now involved in Quality Assurance testing.

 

Pete Inman – Project Leader

Pete InmanPete has spent over 20 years in the IT industry, primarily in the shipping sector. He has been at MCP since 2001. Prior to this he spent 11 years working for a major shipping company developing transport planning, container depot management and other systems with extensive interfaces to FCPS! His current role at MCP is looking after the performance testing, interface development and other aspects of the Destin8 infrastructure.

 

Stuart Johnson - Quality Assurance Testing

Stuart JohnsonStuart has over 10 years experience in the shipping industry. His previous roles, at a global shipping line, were operationally based and he has built up a wealth of knowledge of the functionality of Destin8. These experiences will prove invaluable for his current role on the Quality Assurance testing team. 

 

Rob Kidd - Systems Developer

Robert KiddRob has been with MCP over 8 years, working as a developer, formerly on FCPS and now with Destin8. He worked in insurance broking for over 13 years prior to joining the company and has studied for and gained a software engineering degree on a part time basis whilst at MCP.

 

Norma Lambert - Receptionist

Norma LambertNorma is the MCP Receptionist and as well as operating the main switchboard, she also welcomes visitors and assists the accounts area, in addition to her other daily tasks.  She has previously worked as a secretary, accounts assistant and buyer/department manager of a retail outlet. Norma joined MCP in the year 2000.

 

Lynn Needs – Customer Services

Lynn NeedsLynn has worked in Customer Services at MCP since 2001 and has been actively involved in the successful implementation of NES, Destin8 and SAD-H. Her role as Help Desk Team Leader includes customer liaison, UAT testing and external training. Previously she worked for Customs in Felixstowe for 20 years, in a number of operational areas.

 

Alison Noy – Systems Developer

Alison NoyAlison has worked on various Container Management projects since graduating from college, both for the Port of Felixstowe and latterly MCP. Working for MCP, she initially worked on FCPS, both as a designer and programmer, then on Destin8 as a Database specialist and developer.

 

Tina Purnell - Management PA

Tina PurnellTina joined the company in 2010 as Management PA. Prior to joining MCP, Tina worked for 23 years as a senior secretary for accountancy firm Grant Thornton, where her responsibilities included working for partners and managers and providing assistance to both the tax and audit departments.

 

 

Amy Ranson - Customer Services

Amy RansonAmy has over 10 years experience in the shipping industry which includes working for a major shipping line, a freight forwarder and a warehousing company. Prior to joining the MCP Help Desk team in 2004 she was the Senior Co-ordinator for the Port of Felixstowe IT Helpdesk. As part of the Customer Service team at MCP her roles include User Acceptance Testing (UAT), customer liaison, training and website administration.

 

Paul Seaman – Systems Developer

Paul SeamanPaul started his career with MCP over 10 years ago following his decision for a career change. Formerly employed by Suffolk Constabulary, BAE Systems in Saudi Arabia and the Royal Air Force, he now develops software for Destin8 using JAVA and XML. One of his main focus areas is the CHIEF Interface. He is looking forward to bringing new technologies to Destin8, primarily Service Bus Architecture and AJAX.

 

Daniel Shelcot - Customer Services

Daniel ShelcotDaniel started in the shipping industry straight from University, having graduated with a BSc degree in Information Management Systems. He has over 4 years experience with a major shipping line, working in Operations on Equipment Control and Transhipments. His current role includes Helpdesk and User Acceptance Testing.

 

Ian Shephard - Systems Developer

Ian ShephardIan has 28 years experience as a developer, over 20 years in MCP, formerly on FCP80/FCPS, then Destin8. Prior to joining MCP he worked for Honeywell-Bull in large systems Software Support and as a Project Leader, specialising in mainframe application conversions. 

 

Sandie Whiting – Accounts Assistant

Sandie WhitingSandie has over 20 years experience working within the financial sector. Prior to joining MCP in 2006, Sandie worked for Barclays Bank Plc and Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. Currently studying towards an accounting qualification, Sandie assists the Accountant, David Copsey.
