Customs Declarations Training
An industry response to the new world of trade
In preparation for the UK's EU exit on March 29, Strong and Herd, Institute of Export and International Trade, British Chamber of Commerce, EEF: The Manufacturers' Organisation (now trading as Make UK) and the British International Freight Association (BIFA), in partnership with other leading industry experts have developed Customs Declarations Training to help businesses and customs intermediaries across the country get ready for the new procedures.
The comprehensive learning programme includes flexible, bite-sized e-learning modules, classroom courses and virtual classroom sessions, and highlights what businesses need to know to meet customs requirements quickly and efficiently once the UK leaves the EU.
The training has been made possible through HM Treasury and HMRC’s investment in training provision in this area, in a push to increase capacity of the sector ahead of March 2019.
“The UK government are continuing to prepare for every eventuality and are encouraging businesses to consider how exiting the EU might affect them, and how they can prepare ahead of March 2019.”HM Revenue & Customs
The Government is offering grants to help companies with training and IT costs undertaken in preparation for the UK leaving the EU. Depending on a company's size, a grant could cover 50-70% of the cost of training. Closing date for applications is 5 April 2019.
